Timothy Busfield

Timothy Busfield is an American actor and director best known for his role as Eliot Weston on the television series “Thirtysomething” and his recurring role as Danny Concannon on the television series “The West Wing”.

In 1991 he received a Primetime Emmy Award as Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for “Thirtysomething”. He is also the founder of the 501(c) non-profit children's theatre Fantasy Theatre for Children and B Street Theatre.

Busfield remains a stage actor and director whose Broadway credits include A Few Good Men and Brighton Beach Memoirs, where he was star Matthew Broderick's understudy.

Off-Broadway, he worked with Circle Repertory Company in 1982. With elder brother Buck Busfield, he is the co-founder of the B Street Theater in Sacramento, California, where he has appeared in and directed numerous contemporary works. The Busfield brothers also established Fantasy Theater, a touring troupe that plays to children. Busfield writes children's plays for the Fantasy troupe.

The show-within-a-show is run by executive producers Matt Albie and Danny Tripp. Matt serves as the head writer and Danny produces the show. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip ran on NBC for 22 episodes, from September 18, 2006 to June 28, 2007. To date, it is the only Aaron Sorkin-created series which did not get a second season.
