Rance Howard is an American television and film actor who has been in the industry for over 60 years.

In 1965, Howards made his film debut, alongside his 2-year-old brother, in “Frontier Woman”. He then went on to star in the television series “Kraft Theatre” and “The Andy Griffith Show”. During the 1960s, he landed a role on “Gentle Ben”, which ended up becoming his best-known role throughout his career. He later starred in “Kung Fu”, “7th Heaven”, “Cold Case”, “The Waltons”, “Angel”, “Gunsmoke”, “Bonanza”, “That's So Raven”, “Seinfeld”, and more.

As for film, he has starred in “A League of Their Own”, “Angels & Demons”, “Rosewood Lane”, “The Music Man”, “Nebraska”, “Cool Hand Luke”, “Apollo 13”, “The Da Vinci Code”, “Cinderella Man”, “A Beautiful Mind”, “Backdraft”, and many more. Howard has starred in a number of his son's films over the years, as well.

The actor was married twice in his life, first to Jean Speegle Howard between 1949 and 2000. In 2001, he married for a second time to Judy Howard, whom he is still married to. He has two sons, both with Jean Speegle Howard: Ron and Clint Howard, who is an actor. Ron Howard is also an actor, as well as, a filmmaker. His first granddaughter, Bryce Dallas Howard is an actress, producer, director, and writer. His second granddaughter is Paige Howard, who is also an actress.
