Born on June 1, 1996 in London, Thomas Stanley Holland is the oldest of four. His acting career started when he began taking a hip hop class at Nifty Feet Dance School in Wimbledon in 2006. Though he was bullied in school for being a dancer, Holland made his West End debut in 2008 in Billy Elliot the Musical as Michael, Billy’s best friend. He would go on to appear in a news program and give his first TV interview, followed by a start appearance on the show The FeelGood Factor (1997 -).

After his stint as the lead in Billy Elliot the Musical, Holland progressed onto television, where he appeared in four episodes of BBC Two’s series Wolf Hall and on Lip Sync Battle, where he defeated the famous Zendaya. In 2011, his film career began when Holland was casted in the British version of the animated film Arrietty (2010). He would make his feature film debut in The Impossible (2012), where he was rumored to be a contender for an Academy Award. He received universal praise from critics for his performance and won several awards such as the National Board of Review Award for Breakthrough Performance and London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year.

His biggest breakthrough came in 2015, when he was announced to cast the teenage Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War (2015). As Holland tweeted his “life was flipped upside down” by this feature, his performance was highly acclaimed and led to the film grossing over $1.1 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of 2016. Afterwards, Holland continued to play roles in the Spider-Man and Avengers series with his most recent feature in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) grossing over $1.1 billion. With such a wealth of experience in the action genre, it will be quite refreshing to see him take on a voice acting roles in his future films. Spies in Disguise, set to release on Dec. 25, 2019, follows Tom Holland as Walter Beckett, a socially inept scientific genius who graduated from MIT at age 15 and designs gadgets.  The world is counting on the highly famous super spy Lance Sterling to protect it from grave threats, who in turn often counts on the technical smarts of Beckett to fashion great gadgets to accomplish his missions in spite of himself. However, when Beckett attempts to introduce his newest invention of "biodynamic concealment", Sterling accidentally ingests Beckett's experimental work and turns into a pigeon. He must now find out how he can save the world from cybernetic madman Tristan McFord while being a small animal.
