He would go on to appear in a news program and give his first TV interview, followed by a start appearance on the show The FeelGood Factor (1997 -).

After his stint as the lead in Billy Elliot the Musical, Holland progressed onto television, where he appeared in four episodes of BBC Two’s series Wolf Hall and on Lip Sync Battle, where he defeated the famous Zendaya. In 2011, his film career began when Holland was casted in the British version of the animated film Arrietty (2010). His biggest breakthrough came in 2015, when he was announced to cast the teenage Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War (2015). However, when Beckett attempts to introduce his newest invention of "biodynamic concealment", Sterling accidentally ingests Beckett's experimental work and turns into a pigeon. He must now find out how he can save the world from cybernetic madman Tristan McFord while being a small animal.
