Sophie Turner will play the starring role with Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Michael Vaughn co-starring.
"X-Men: Dark Phoenix" will be in cinemas from February 5 next year.

Michael B. Johnson is on a roll - following his impressive performance as Killmonger in "Black Panther", he will be gracing our cinema screens again in November, in "Creed II".

Creed needs all the help he can get...his opponent is Vitor Drago - the son of the formidable Russian fighter who was responsible for his father's death.

Boxer Florian Munteanu will play Vitor Drago and of course Sylvester Stallone is back as Rocky Balboa.
Get ready, because "Creed II" will be in cinemas from November 21!

"Nigerian Prince" gets U.S. October Release
Director Faraday Oko won $1 million dollars for his story "Nigerian Prince" at last year's Tribeca Film Festival.  Over the next year, he worked tirelessly on his first feature - he had previously solely created short films - and, thankfully, returned to the Tribeca Film Festival in April with the finished product.

"Nigerian Prince" follows the story of Eze, a Nigerian-American teenager who is sent to live with his aunt in Lagos.  Deeply resentful of the situation, Eze starts to hang out with his cousin, who teaches him all about scamming as a 'Nigerian Prince'.
The story is partly drawn from Oko's own experience - A Nigerian-American who grew up in Maryland, he was sent to live with relatives in Lagos for the first two years of high school.  At first, Oko hated it, but he gradually  developed a love of the new culture and his second home.

"Nigerian Prince" was shot on location, in Lagos, at the end of the rainy season.  Filming was difficult and complicated - not just because of the weather and the frequent power cuts,  but also because Oko didn't really have film contacts in Nigeria.  Eventually, though, they hired Nollywood artists and experts who helped make things run smoother.

Faraday Oko is a graduate from N.Y.U., where he met his mentor, director Spike Lee, who is executive producer of the film.
"Nigerian Prince" stars Antonio J. Bell, Chinaza Uche, Tina Mba, Bimbo Manuel, Ebbe Bassey and Rita Edward.
There is currently a release date for the U.S.A. - October 19 - stay tuned for news on a Nigerian release!

Lagos Comic Con Huge Success!
We talked about Lagos Comic Con at the beginning of the month and we're happy to report that it was a hit!  The event's growing popularity meant that this year, it was held in a larger venue, the Landmark Event Centre.

Many fans, as well as Nollywood actors, filmmakers, screenwriters and animators turned up.  There were cosplay competitions, workshops, interviews, technical displays and more, so there was something for everyone.

This year saw the first Nollycon section, which brought fans and those in the film industry together for discussions, encouraging those interested in working in Nollywood.  We're already looking forward to next year!
