Halle Berry to make Directorial Debut
Not only is Halle Berry starring in and producing "Bruised", this will also be her directorial debut. The star, who has a very long and very impressive resumé in acting, will be working with screenwriter Michelle Rosenfarb on the project.
The movie is all about an MMA fighter (played by Berry) who has fallen on hard times. Disgraced from the fighting scene, she's ready to give up on everything - but when her six year old son (who she abandoned) comes back into her life, it's time to gain back her dignity in and out of the ring. Think of a cross-between "Rocky" and "Million Dollar Baby".
Berry will be working with the fight choreography team used in the "John Wick" films, which are well-known for their intricate fight scenes. Berry will be appearing in next year's "John Wick 3: Parabellum" - perhaps filming for this somehow inspired "Bruised"?
Production for "Bruised" is set to begin next March, stay tuned for more info!

"The Nun" Scores Box Office Record in Conjuring Franchise
There was positive buzz leading up to the release of horror flick " The Nun", but it has exceeded expectations with a whopping $53.5 million in the opening weekend!
The fifth film in "The Conjuring" franchise, which also includes the "Annabelle" movies, "The Nun" portrays the beginnings of this horrifying figure in a habit, which haunted audiences in "The Conjuring 2". The previous four movies have earned $1.1 billion worldwide.
This is of course perfect timing for a horror movie to be released - those countries that celebrate Halloween are gearing up for the spooky season - and it seems the critics' attitudes towards the horror genre is turning. This is an area of the movie industry which has often been scoffed at, or seen as 'less than' other genres, but times are changing. The fact that "Halloween" was shown at last week's Toronto International Film Festival is a case in point.
Are you up for a fright of a film? Check out "The Nun", out now in cinemas across Nigeria!
The "Merry Men" are four friends - Remi, Amaju, Ayo and Naz - who are THE eligible bachelors of Abuja. They live extravagant lives with the fastest of cars, the most luxurious of mansions and, of course, the most beautiful women.
The women of Abuja nickname them the 'Real Yoruba Demons', as their reputation precedes them.
Luckily we don't have long to wait to see this star-studded cast in action - "Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons" has an expected release of September 28. For now, enjoy the trailer!
