Last week, fans of the popular television series “Game of Thrones” celebrated the engagement of on and off screen couple Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Rose Leslie (Ygritte). They aren't the only on-screen couple who were also a couple in real life. Check out our list of past and current relationships between Hollywood costars and Nollywood costars!

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise
These two Hollywood stars met on the set of the 1990 movie “Days of Thunder”. They married that same year on Christmas Eve. The two adopted a girl named Isabella and a boy named Connor Anthony. However, in 2001, Cruise filed for divorce, not knowing that Kidman was pregnant with their first child. Unfortunately, Kidman had an ectopic pregnancy.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder
This television couple met while filming “The Vampire Diaries”, playing a couple on the series. It wasn't before long that fans realized their intense chemistry went further than the show. It was reported in 2010 that the two were frequently seen on “dates”, despite never confirming a relationship.

After countless paparazzi photos of them surfaced and they were photographed attending awards shows together, fans were sure that they were a couple in 2011. In 2012, rumors spread that she had rejected his marriage proposal, claiming she was too young for marriage, thus causing trouble in their relationship.

In 2013, the couple officially called it quits, even though they were still a couple on-screen. In 2015, Somerhalder married actress Nikki Reed, who happened to be a friend of Nina Dobrev, giving gossip magazines and websites something to talk about for months. Nowadays, Somerhalder and his wife remain friends with Dobrev, who is currently dating actor Glen Powell.

Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder

During the 1990s, actor Johnny Depp and actress Winona Ryder were considered to be one of the decade's most popular couples. After five months of dating, the couple became engaged and Depp was seen with a tattoo that read “Winona Forever”. In 1990, they starred together in “Edward Scissorhands”.

However, three years later, in 1993, the couple informed fans and the media that their engagement was off and Depp had his tattoo altered. It wasn't long before Depp moved on to a relationship with supermodel Kate Moss and, well, the rest is history.
