“Star Wars Forces of Destiny” Debuts on YouTube

Today, Lucasfilm Animation released “Star Wars Forces of Destiny” on the Disney YouTube page. On July 9th, the 16-part miniseries will air on Disney Channel, giving fans another outlet to travel to a galaxy far, far away and catch their favourite characters in unseen moments from the previous “Star Wars” films. The series aims to focus on the franchise's leading ladies, with shorts dedicated to each of them.

So, who can we expect to see in future shorts? Princess Leia, Jyn Erso, Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Padme Amidala, and more. Characters will be voiced by Daisy Ridley (Rey), Felicity Jones (Jyn), Lupita Nyong'o (Maz), John Boyega (Finn), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka), Vanessa Marshall (Hera Syndulla), Tiya Sircar (Sabine), and more. Oh, and we will also see Chewbacca, R2-D2, C3PO, BB-8, and other fan favourites throughout the shorts!

The first short, “Sands of Jakku”, released today, focuses on Rey and shows a scene missed in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Catch the first episode here and get an idea of what to expect over the next 15 days:

In addition to the shorts, a new line of “Adventure Figures”, books, and role-play toys are set to release in stores across the United States on August 1st. For those living outside the United States and interested in this new line of collectibles, they can be purchased (or currently pre-ordered) on Amazon.
